Forest Preservation Project: "Seibu no Mori"

Of the company land that we own nationwide, which covers approximately 100,000,000 m2, around half the number is accounted for by forest (company owned forest),and we have selected from 18 areas nationwide approximately 30% (30,000,000 m2) as environmental preservation promotion areas to become “Seibu no Mori Forest." By 2030, we will develop each area through environmental preservation activities and preserve them as environmental preservation areas.

STRENGTHEN THE FOUNDATION

Provision of Safe and Secure Services

As a state-of-the-art office building, DaiyaGate Ikebukuro, with the aim to improve disaster prevention, has signed with Toshima Ward an “Agreement on Coordination and Cooperation for Countermeasures for People Stranded during Disasters”. We are working to improve the disaster prevention capabilities in the Ikebukuro area and to enhance the safety and security of the entire area, for example by providing temporary waiting spaces in the event of a large-scale earthquake.

Disaster prevention stockpile warehouse/temporary stay spaces for stranded people

In addition to establishing a disaster stockpile warehouse in the DaiyaGate Ikebukuro, we will also open the building’s deck and entrance hall as a disaster stockpile warehouse and temporary stay space for people who are stranded.

Temporary waiting space: 1,000 people
Temporary stay space: 270 people

Intermediate seismic isolation structure to suppress earthquake shaking

This structure efficiently absorbs seismic energy and suppresses structural damage. In addition, the brace frame around the building bears horizontal forces in the event of an earthquake.

High-reliability power supply

Two separate power supply lines featuring backup generators that can provide emergency power for 72 hours and an emergency power supply space for residents ensure business continuity in times of disaster.

Water and sewage backup

Enough water to last three days is held at all times for use in case of disasters. The capacity to store sewage in the building is also planned.

Installation of manhole toilets

Five manhole toilets for stranded people have been installed.
